My family will be Israelis

So it is final...my family is leaving me! Due to my dad's job they are packing up and moving thousands of miles from me...ugh! My mom left Monday to meet my dad in Israel to pick out a home and finalize some details. We are selling our home and moving into my parents' home in the next few weeks...very stressful but I know everything will work out just fine as it always does. I still cry every time I talk about it or even think about it...(my eyes just watered over as I type this blog). I still think, "What am I going to do?" I know exactly what I'm going to do...I'm going to run up my phone bill calling my mom and dad every day! It is going to be tough but I'm sure it'll make me a stronger person...blah blah blah. I'll post again soon.

Libby update: She now brushes her two teeth! It is so funny! I think she has another one coming out soon....she's been super grouchy!

Memorial Weekend - A weekend of firsts...

We had a very interesting weekend! Libby got to swing in a baby swing for the first time at her nana and grandpa's house on Saturday. She wasn't too sure about it at first but she will soon learn to like it! Libby also got to go swimming for the first time! We went to supper club and I braved the bikini for the first time since having Libby!!! It wasn't too bad I guess. Libby splashed around and enjoyed watching the other kids play even though the water was rather chilly!

On Monday, Anthony and I cooked lunch for his parents and for my mom and sister. We also made homemade ice cream...it was a very "American" afternoon!

Monday Libby spoke her first word! She said "dada" of course...Anthony and I thought it was just our imaginations but she later repeated dada all day and again yesterday...she knows she's big stuff!!!

Little Teeth

Libby has been very busy...cutting teeth! She cut her first tooth last Wednesday (found by my mom) and last night Anthony and I found tooth number 2! Both teeth are at the bottom and she has been biting everything...including me! Ouch!!! I can't wait to see where tooth number 3 will appear. We have a busy upcoming weekend. Her Uncle Gerald (my Parrin) is coming to town!Yeah! We all miss him very much and cherish the time he is in...My brilliant sister, Michelle is also graduating college and I'm so very proud of her. Oh and we have a birthday party to go to on Saturday. Busy Busy!!!!

Breastfeeding

All of a sudden it seems everyone wants to know when I'm going to stop breastfeeding. The answer is when I feel like it! Libby is only six months old she's not six years old! So talk about me all you want...I still enjoy feeding my baby and she is so NOT ready to quit yet. It's free, easy, and a comforting experience for me and Libby. Thankfully, I do have support from my mother and husband who are big breastfeeding advocates.

Allergies, Allergies, Allergies

So last week I took Libby to the doctor because her eye was yucky...turns out she had pink eye as a result of her allergies. They put her on Zyrtek which would then cause her to projectile vomit 20 minutes after giving it to her. We took a trip to Houston and she was miserably conjested and developed a nasty cough...yucky again. Sooo....yesterday we traveled back to the doctor to learn that there are thankfully NO infections and that she simply has bad allergies (a result of our fabulous weather in South Louisiana and the fact that her parents suffer with allergies year round)....

Houston Trip

Last weekend we journeyed to Katy, Texas to visit my grandparents. My grandfather is very ill and is slowly dying so it was a trip well overdue. They got to meet Libby (their 5th great-grandchild)! Their expressions when they met her were priceless. This was Libby's first long trip and for the most part she did fantastic. She's battling allergies so she was a little cranky (which is to be expected.) We took her to the Katy Mills Mall. She slept about half the time there so mommy got to do some much needed summer shopping. We also ate as Los Cucos and Salt Grass Steakhouse (which she also slept through). By the way Los Cucos is amazing! Thanks for the suggestion Adrienne!

Hello

My cousin Adrienne started a blog which prompted me to start one as well! I figured this will be a good way for family and friends to keep up with our little family...so stay tuned for more!
